Manthan steers LPS to title

MOHALI:Manthan Sharma scored an unbeaten half-century to help the hosts Learning Paths School (LPS) beat Smart Wonder School by 61 runs and win the inaugural LPS Cricket U-13 Tournament here on Tuesday.

Manthan Sharma scored an unbeaten half-century to help the hosts Learning Paths School (LPS) beat Smart Wonder School by 61 runs and win the inaugural LPS Cricket U-13 Tournament here on Tuesday. 

Opting to bat first, the hosts scored 136/6 in 20 overs. Manthan made a 59-ball 61, while Yaanish contributed 33 runs to the total. 

Harnoor Singh claimed two wickets for Smart Wonder, while Agaminder and Jasnoor took a wicket each.

In reply, Smart Wonder boys could only score 75/5 in the allotted overs. Harnoor Singh made 25 runs, while Jasnoor chipped in with 18 runs. 

Chetanaya and Parbhjot Singh claimed two wickets each for the hosts. Namitveer picked one wicket. 

Manthan was adjudged Man of the Match, while Namitver was named the Best Bowler of the tournament. Parth Sharma received the Best Batsman trophy and Harnoor was adjudged the Best All-rounder.
