Mandeep wins gold, Pb Police lead medal tally

CHANDIGARH:Mandeep Singh of Punjab Police won the gold medal in the 1000m M1X event in the All India Police Rowing Championship, organised by Indo-Tibet Border Police Force (ITBP) at Sukhna Lake on Sunday.

Mandeep Singh of Punjab Police won the gold medal in the 1000m M1X event in the All India Police Rowing Championship, organised by Indo-Tibet Border Police Force (ITBP) at Sukhna Lake on Sunday. 

Mandeep clocked 3 minutes, 40.14 seconds to bag the gold medal. Ranjeet Singh of CRPF won the silver medal in 3.40:17, while Sandeep Kumar of ITBP clocked 3.45:30 to claim the bronze.

In the M2 final, Rubin Mangar and Rohit Kumar of ITBP clocked 3.45:75 to claim the gold medal. Rajinder Singh and Tarsem Singh of CRPF won the silver medal in 3.56:38, while Balwinder Singh and Gurkanwal Singh of Punjab Police claimed the bronze medal in 3.58:68. In the M4 event, Punjab Police’s Jagmeet Singh, Sukhdeep Singh, Manjit Singh and Gurjeet Singh claimed the top honour in the 3.13:30. Sashastra Seema Bal’s (SSB) Ankit Singhm, Kuldeep Sendhav, Vishwajeet Sendhav and Gurudev finished second in 3.17:27. CRPF’s Gurmej Singh, Ravinderjit Singh, Ravi Kumar and Sharma Singh claimed the third position in 3.21.30.

In the M2X final, Pritpal Singh and Gurwinder Singh of Punjab Police claimed the top position in 3.27:63, while Govind Singh and Surendra Singh Parmar of SSB finished second in 3.33:88. Gayarshi Lal and Nitesh Kumar Lal of ITBP clocked 3.40:64 to claim the third position.

On the second day of the championship, Punjab Police won three gold medals and one bronze medal to top the medal tally. ITBP are second with one gold medal and two bronze medals, while CRPF are third. —TNS
