Manan to captain Chandigarh in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

Manan Vohra will lead the 15-member Chandigarh squad in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which begins from November 8. Bipul Sharma has been named his deputy.

Chandigarh has been placed in Group C along with Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Hyderabad, Punjab, Maharashtra and Railways.

The side will play its opening match against Himachal at the Sector 16 stadium here on Friday. 

Mandeep to lead Punjab

The Punjab side would be led by Mandeep Singh.

Punjab will open their campaign against Hyderabad tomorrow at Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 26. They will face Arunachal Pradesh on November 9, while they will meet hosts Chandigarh on November 11. 

The Mandeep Singh-led side will take on Himachal Pradesh on November 12, followed by Railways on November 14, Chhattisgarh on November 15 and Maharashtra on November 17. 

Apart from Mandeep, the 16-member Punjab side also includes the likes of Shubman Gill, Siddharth Kaul and Mayank Markande, Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) said in statement today.    

The team will be accompanied by manager Munish Bali, bowling coach Devinder Arora, fielding coach Sandeep Sawal, logistics manager Girish Bhanot, trainer Jatinder Billa, physiotherapist Jai Sabharwal and video analyst Amit Kumar. — TNS
