Ambala, April 23

The police have booked four people in connection with an attempt to murder Mohinder, who was shot in Ambala City on Monday evening.

A case has been registered against Manoj, a resident of Jind, and three unidentified people under Section 25 of the Arms Act, 34, 307 and 506 of the IPC.

Bharat Bhushan, a resident of Ambala City, in his complaint to the police stated that he had invited Mohinder Singh, a resident of Dera Bassi, for celebrating his birthday on Monday. “Mohinder received a call from Manoj that he has come to Ambala for some work. Following the call, I along with Mohinder went to Madan Dhaba on Court Road. A verbal spat broke out between Mohinder and Manoj over an old monetary dispute. There were three more people along with Manoj. All of a sudden, Manoj asked them to shoot Mohinder. Following which one of them pulled out a country-made pistol from his bag and opened fire at Mohinder. Mohinder ran out of the dhaba and fell on the ground. Meanwhile, Manoj managed to flee with his three friends in a car,” he added.

The police were also checking criminal background of the accused. TNS
