Man sells railway tickets on black market, held

CHANDIGARH: A team of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) nabbed a man on the charge of black marketing of tatkal railway tickets. The accused has been identified as Dalip Grover.

A team of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) nabbed a man on the charge of black marketing of tatkal railway tickets.

The accused has been identified as Dalip Grover.

The team, led by Ambala range RPF Inspector (crime) Sukhdev Raj, raided premises at New Friends Colony in Zirakpur and nabbed Grover.

“He was running an illegal trade with the name of Shivam Document Centre. We have seized 13 tickets worth Rs 20,000 from the accused’s possession,” said Sukhdev Raj.

According to the investigating officer, the accused was charging Rs 200 extra in lieu of issuing tatkal tickets. Dalip Grover had created multiple user identities for obtaining tatkal tickets, he said.

Sukhdev Raj said the team had received a tip-off and nabbed Dalip while he was selling the tickets.

The accused has been booked under Section 143 of the Railway Act.
