Man killed, son hurt in bus-bike collision

DERA BASSI: A 50-year-old man was killed while his son sustained injuries when the mobike they were riding on collided head-on with a Punjab Roadways bus near Jawaharpur village in Dera Bassi here on Wednesday.

A 50-year-old man was killed while his son sustained injuries when the mobike they were riding on collided head-on with a Punjab Roadways bus near Jawaharpur village in Dera Bassi here on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Joginder Singh and his injured son as Ankush, residents of Ber Kheri village in Naraingarh tehsil, Haryana.

According to the police, the incident occurred around noon when the father-son duo was coming towards Jawaharpur village from the Ambala side on their bike to meet one of their relatives residing here.

Joginder Singh died on the spot, while Ankush was rushed to the PGI. It has been learnt that the bus driver applied brakes, but could not avert the mishap.
