Six persons have been booked on abetment charge after a Jagadhari resident consumed poison here.

The deceased has been identified as Robin Goyal.

The victim’s elder brother Mayank Goyal told the police that they were into crop trading business in Jagadhari. Rajiv Garg, a resident of Sector 4, Panchkula, owed Robin Rs 1.20 crore. Despite repeated requests, the accused did not pay the amount.

A meeting was held through mediators and it was decided that the accused would pay the money on June 14. However, Rajiv, his wife Romi and daughter Steffy refused to pay the money and abused Robin, his father and brother while threatening to eliminate them. — TNS
