ZIRAKPUR: A 38-year-old man was crushed to death under the wheels of a tipper while crossing the road here on Tuesday evening.

A 38-year-old man was crushed to death under the wheels of a tipper while crossing the road here on Tuesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Pawan Kumar, who was living with his nephew at Rampur Kalan village near Zirakpur.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 8 pm when the victim was crossing the road. Pawan died on the spot. The police were informed about the incident, who took the body to the hospital. The police did not register an FIR as relatives of the deceased refused to lodge a complaint in this regard.

According to preliminary investigations, it has come to the fore that Pawan Kumar was mentally upset. He belonged to Mundi Kharar but was living with his relatives at Rampur Kalan.
