CHANDIGARH: A Mauli Jagran resident has been booked by the UT police for outraging the modesty of a minor girl.

Chandigarh, June 15

A Mauli Jagran resident has been booked by the UT police for outraging the modesty of a minor girl.

According to the police, the accused, identified as Gulshad of Charan Singh Colony, Mauli Jagran, stopped the victim near a dispensary in the area and molested her.

A case under Sections 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint) and 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the IPC and Section 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered against the accused at the Mauli Jagran police station.

The accused is yet to be arrested. — TNS
