Mohali, August 16

The Punjab Organised Crime Control Unit (OCCU) made an arrest of a person who had been updating posts of Punjab’s slain gangster Sukha Kahlwan on a social network site, while staying abroad.

The accused, identified as Chandan Khatri, is said to have been arrested from Rajpura. After his arrest, the police produced him before the local court at Mohali on Wednesday.

The court has sent him on remand under police custody for three days.

According to the police, Khatri was staying in Kuwait and he returned India a few days ago. Khatri was updating the Facebook of Sukha Kahlwan, who was killed by Vicky Gounder in January 2015. Even after Kahlwan’s murder, his Facebook posts were being updated regularly and the police was keeping strict vigil on all the posts on social network sites of the gangster. — TNS
