Maintain burial grounds: Mayor to officials

CHANDIGARH: Following a report on the dilapidated condition of city burial grounds in these columns, Mayor Asha Kumari Jaswal today ordered officials to ensure proper lighting system, potable water, sheds, toilet blocks, tile work and boundary walls there.

Following a report on the dilapidated condition of city burial grounds in these columns, Mayor Asha Kumari Jaswal today ordered officials to ensure proper lighting system, potable water, sheds, toilet blocks, tile work and boundary walls there.She visited burial and cremation grounds in Hallo Majra, Dadu Majra and Sector 25 and instructed executive engineers to maintain cleanliness inside and outside the graveyards and cremation grounds.

Jaswal directed the Executive Engineer, Horticulture, MC, Chandigarh, for planting saplings outside these places. The Mayor asked the Chief Engineer to prepare a report on today’s visit as to what work needed to be done in these places Nominated councillor Haji Mohd Khursid Ali, who accompanied her, said the Mayor had taken note of the issue and the problems would be solved soon.
