Madhur, Jyoti set new meet records

Patiala, November 23

Madhur Singh and Jyoti Bumrah broke meet records in the Punjabi University inter-college athletics championship here today.

While Madhur won the gold in the men’s decathlon, Jyoti of DBC, Dhuri, was first in the men’s 20km race walk event.

In the other men’s events, Kamaljit Singh of NC, Bhikhi, won the triple jump gold, while Karanbeer Singh of BFC, Bathinda, won the shot put gold. Yuvraj Singh of NCPE, Chupki, won the 100m gold, while Aneef of GTB, Bhawanigarh, was first in the 200m event. 

In the 3000m steeplechase, Vivek of Public College, Samana, won the gold, while Samanpreet Singh of ACPE, Mastuana Sahib, won the high jump gold. Gurpartap Singh of Khalsa College, Patiala, won the javelin throw gold, while Arsdeep Singh of Modi College, Patiala, won the 800m gold. — TNS
