Cabinet minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot distributed loan waiver certificates worth Rs 22.66 lakh among 83 farm labourers here on Monday. 

Addressing a gathering, Dharamsot said in the district, the state government had waived the loans of 928 farmers worth Rs 3.16 crore. 

He said Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation had waived loans up to Rs 50,000 each of 14,269 farmers till date. The minister said an amount of Rs 46 crore had been waived. 

Besides, Bankfinco waived the loans of 1,630 beneficiaries worth Rs 6.59 core. 

He said the state government was committed to the welfare of the people of every category and had fulfilled the promises made to the farmers.
