Levanshu, Tarini win chess titles

CHANDIGARH:Levanshu Khullar claimed the Chandigarh U-19 Open Championship title and Tarini Goyal claimed the U-19 Girls Chess Championship title at St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44.

Levanshu Khullar claimed the Chandigarh U-19 Open Championship title and Tarini Goyal claimed the U-19 Girls Chess Championship title at St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44. 

Khullar scored 5½ points to win the title, while Goyal scored 4½ points to win the girls’ U-19 category title.

Khullar, Yogik Khurana, Shaurya Kumaria and Nitish have been selected in the open category to represent the city in the upcoming national championship (December 3 to 11) to be held in Delhi. In the girls’ U-19 category, Tarini, Kashish Kaushal, Mitali Saini and Precious Bansal have been selected to represent the city. A total of 51 players participated in the championship.
