A two-day World Scholar‘s Cup 2019 hosted by Learning Paths School, Mohali, commenced on a high note. Jeremy Chumley, an international educationist and speaker, delivered a keynote address to around 360 students who came from 20 schools. The students held debate on topics, including neglected history, voices from the margins and on the edge of society, among others. 

Shishu Niketan Public School

Class IX students of Shishu Niketan Public School, Sector 43, Chandigarh, visited 94.3 FM radio station to celebrate the Earth Day. Students interacted with Radio Jockeys and presented handmade posters and flash cards to them. Students also gifted saplings to the team members of radio station. 

British School, Chandigarh 

Students of British School, Chandigarh, celebrated the Earth Day by participating in various activites, including newspaper recycling, poster- making activity and speech on “What I can possibly do as an earthling to save my planet.” 

The New Public School, Chandigarh

Students of Class VI to VIII of The New Public School, Chandigarh, presented a One-Act Play in the morning assembly. The play motivated the students to encourage their family members and close relatives to vote in the 2019 General Election. 

The British School, Panchkula

The two-day 11th Panchkula district cadet, sub-junior, junior, senior sqay championship 2019-20 concluded at The British School, Sector 8, Panchkula.The event attracted a large number of martial art exponents from various schools. The British School won the overall trophy in the cadet category with 40 points; Gurukul, Sector 29, Panchkula, stood second in the same category. In the junior category, Gurukul, Sector 20, Panchkula, ranked first and Little Flower School, Sector 14, Panchkula, stood second. Alpine School, Pinjore, outperformed others in the senior category.

Ashiana Public School, Chandigarh

Students of Ashiana Public School, Sector 46 A, Chandigarh, attended a motivational workshop conducted by Ankur Malhotra and Ritu Singal. Ritu gave an insight to the students on how to remain focused and goal oriented. She said children face a lot of distraction, but motivation and hardwork is the only way to fulfill their goals. 

Sri Guru Harkrishan Model School

Sri Guru Harkrishan Model School, Sector 38 D, Chandigarh, organised a special assembly on the “World Malaria Day” to create awareness about vector-borne diseases. OP Malik, Health Supervisor, Pest Control Department, told students regarding causes and preventive measures of malaria.

St Joseph’s School, Chandigarh

Class I and II students of St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School organised a laughter yoga session in the morning assembly. Students felt relaxed and happy after participating in the session. 

Solitaire Int’l School, Panchkula

Tiny tots of Solitaire International School, Sector 20, Panchkula, celebrated the “Red Day”. The class was decorated with red articles and students did painting with red colour. Each student was also gifted a red colour balloon.

Mount Carmel School, Chandigarh

Students of Mount Carmel School, Sector 47 B, Chandigarh, brought laurels by wining prizes in the handwriting Olympiad. Riya of Class X, Jasmine of Class VII and Mridul Nayar of Class II stood first in A, B and C category, respectively. Devanshi Verma of Class IX and Khushi Kaundal of Class VIII ranked second. Avneet Kaur of Class X, Ishmeet Kaur of Class V and Ravneet Sahota of Class II stood third in their respective categories.
