Class VII students of KB DAV-7 participated in an event to spread awareness regarding water crisis and water conservation on the school premises. Students presented a skit on the depleting condition of rivers in India. Informative PowerPoint presentations, speeches and videos were shown by students highlighting facts regarding water crisis, causes, effects and remedies. The function concluded with a pledge by teachers and students to save water.

Saint Soldier, Chandigarh

Saint Soldier International School, Chandigarh, observed week-long ‘Van Mahotsava’. Creative-writing and poster-making competitions were organised in English, Hindi and Punjabi. Some of the topics for creative writing were ‘Environmental Pollution’, ‘Trees-A Valuable Asset’ and ‘Save Trees’. The poster-making competition on ‘A World without Trees’ was won by Simran, Sweta and Deepanshu of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh House. A plantation drive was organised in which students of all classes participated with fervour.

GMSSS-19, Chandigarh

NSS volunteers of GMSSS, Sector 19-C, Chandigarh, conducted an awareness session regarding water conservation and harvesting under the guidance of Anupam Singh. Students of humanities and vocational stream of Class XII took part in it. Beautiful posters were made by students on water harvesting and preservation. An extempore was also held and students participated enthusiastically. tns
