Karun confirms SGHKMS-38 win

CHANDIGARH:Karam scored 16 points and Bhartinder added 14 points to help Sri Guru Hari Krishan Model School (Sector 38) log an easy 40-28 win over Ajit Karam Singh School (Sector 41) on the opening day of the 20th Pandit Mohan Lal Memorial Basketball Tournament today.

Karun scored 16 points and Bhartinder added 14 points to help Sri Guru Hari Krishan Model School (Sector 38) log an easy 40-28 win over Ajit Karam Singh School (Sector 41) on the opening day of the 20th Pandit Mohan Lal Memorial Basketball Tournament today. Daya (12 points) and Jaskirat (7 points) were the best performers for the Sector 41 team.

 Vivek High School (Sector 38) recorded a 52-27 win over Motiram Arya School (Sector 27) in the second match. Suryaveer (14 points) and Arnav (10 points) were the stars for Vivek High School, while Shivam (11 points) and Vittyal (9 points) reduced the margin for Motiram Arya School.

In the third match, Gurukul Global School, Mani Majra, went down 86-93 against Guru Nanak Public School (Sector 36). Ajmer (41 points) and Rohan (14 points) gathered maximum points for the winning team. Harman (41 points) and Sehjot (16 points) were the best performers for Gurukul Global.

IS Dev Samaj School (Sector 21) also moved into the next round by defeating St Peter’s School (Sector 37) with a narrow margin of 36-35. Tanish (16 points) was the top-scorer for IS Dev Samaj, while Samarjit (21 points) and Onkar (15 points) reduced the margin for the Sector 37 team.

In the last match, Sri Guru Gobind Singh College Public School (Sector 26) defeated Chitkara School (Sector 25) 87-72. Tejbir gathered 32 points for the winners, well supported by Ankush, who added 21 points to the kitty. For the losing team, Surjit (31 points) and Deepak (15 points) tried hard.

In the girls’ category, Sacred Heart School (Sector 26) won the opening match against IS Dev Samaj School 15-4. Paridhi (8 points) and Ishrat (7 points) scripted Sacred Heart’s easy win. Varshal (4 points) was the best performer for the Sector 21 team. —TNS
