JP Atray cricket meet from Feb 8

The 24th edition of the All India JP Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament will be held across various venues of the tricity from February 8-15.

The tournament, which will be played under the auspice of Punjab Cricket Association, was postponed from September last year to February 2019 due to change in the BCCI calendar.

The matches will be held at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium, Tau Devi Lal Stadium in  Panchkula and Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 26, the organisers said here on Tuesday.

Only corporate and club teams will participate in this year’s edition, the organisers said, adding that RBI (Mumbai), Air India (Delhi), Canara Bank (Bengaluru), FCI (Delhi), ONGC (Delhi), CAG (Delhi), Indian Oil (Mumbai), Reliance-I (Mumbai), Minerva Cricket Academy, Customs (Chennai), Tripathi Sports Club (Delhi), BPCL (Mumbai) and BTM Cricket Club will compete in the eight-day tournament. 

The matches will be played on a 50-over format and the tournament will be played on league-cum-knockout basis. The winners will get a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh, while the runners-up will bag Rs1 lakh, the organisers added.
