Chandigarh: Janmejay Singh was on Friday shortlisted for the NBA Academy India in Noida. A student of New Public School, Sector 18, Janmejay is among the six cagers selected for the academy across India.

City girls make a winning start 

Chandigarh:  City girls registered a 10-wicket win against Uttarakhand in their opening match of the T10 Women’s Cricket Tournament in Gurugram on Friday. Electing to bat, Uttarakhand managed just 39/6 in 10 overs. In reply, Chandigarh scampered home in three overs. Palak made an unbeaten 16, while Mamta remained not out on nine. In the second match, Haryana beat Madhya Pradesh by seven wickets. TNS

Cricket trials tomorrow  

Chandigarh:  The Chandigarh Cricket Association, affiliated to Punjab, will on Sunday organise trials to select the U-23 team for the upcoming inter-district tournament. The trials will be held at Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, at 3.30 pm, the sports body said here on Friday. Players born on or after September 1996 will be eligible for the trials. TNS
