Chandigarh, May 22
With light showers and cloud cover predicted for tomorrow,, respite from the heat wave is expected.
While the maximum temperature was 36.7 degree Celsius today, it will touch 38 degrees tomorrow. The bigger problem is humidity which is inconveniencing residents. While relative humidity was 49 per cent yesterday, it jumped to 73 per cent today.
Dry days are predicted ahead and temperature may once again approach 40 degree Celsius. The scattered rain due to western disturbances will not impact the heat wave much. The Met Department had predicted a normal monsoon this year which may bring relief from the heat wave as temperatures have reached as high as 47 degree Celsius in parts of neighbouring state Haryana.
