ISB starts course in business analytics

Dr Karan Avatar Singh, Chief Secretary, Government of Punjab,  inaugurated a ‘Certificate Programme in Business Analytics’ (CBA) at the Indian School of Business (ISB) campus here today. 

The Applied Statics and Computing Lab under the Centre for Executive Education at ISB is extending the Certificate Programme in Business Analytics (CBA) to its Mohali campus beginning from the class of 2018 (winter). 

Sameer Dhanrajani, Chief Strategy Officer, Fractal Analytics,  was the guest of honour for the programme. Along with them,  Professor Rajendra Srivastava, Dean, ISB, Professor Sridhar Seshadri, Senior Advisor to Dean  — Faculty & Research and Prof Bhimasankaram Pochiraju, Executive Director, Clinical Professor of Statistics were present. 

Dr Karan Avtar said the data science and analytics had been existing for long, but it was unfortunate that it had taken long for it to come to India. He said the students must understand and comprehend the data, use it to build algorithm and use that algorithm or forecast to understand the problem and help people.

The current batch of 46 participants will be doing overall six visits for five days each in campus for classes and remaining classes will be online in the 15-month programme.
