International conference ends

Chandigarh: The three-day International Conference on Olympism: Global Innovation Forum for Humanity and Sustainable Development from Ancient Olympia to India, Tokyo 2020 & Beyond, concluded on Saturday, at Dev Samaj College, Sector 36. Dr. Randeep Rakhwal, University of TIAS, Japan on the topic ‘Olympism for Humanity Restoration’ spoke about the global academic initiative of Humanitarian Change makers while Dr. Guido Geilser and Dr. Aman Shah discussed Coaching Expertise: Ways of Collaboration’ and ‘Sports for Tomorrow and 2020 legacy experiences, lessons learned and steps forward’, respectively. A MoU on ‘Olympism for Humanity and Sustainable Development Collaboration’ was also signed between Dev Samaj College and Olympism for Humanity Alliance, USA.

Vikas shines for Adda’s XI

Chandigarh:Adda XI Dera Bassi defeated Lazer CC by six wickets in the Khelo India Cricket Cup at Divya Public School, Sector 44. Batting first, Lazer CC scored 71 runs in 16.1 overs. Aaryan (27) was the main-scorer for the side. For the bowling side, Vikram (3/16), Aneesh Kapoor (2/17) claimed wickets. In reply, the Adda XI boys reached home (74/4) with the help of Vikas Saini (23) and Vikram (19). Shahid (3/22) was the most successful bowler.

Sports meet concludes

Panchkula: : St. Soldier’s School, Sector 16, organised Sports Day for kindergarten students on Sunday. Students participated in 25m, 50m, 100m races

Students win medals 

Mohali: Oakridge International School won medals in the Kentucky State Table Soccer Championship held at Lexington in USA recently. In the junior category, Sehajdeep Singh secured the first position. In the doubles category, Abhayveer Singh Thind and Sehajdeep Singh secured the second position. In the boys’ U-12 category, Sehajdeep Singh got the first position and Manraj Singh Sandhu finished second.

City boxers win laurels 

Chandigarh: City pugilists won three gold, one silver and one bronze in the fifth Inter-zonal Women’s National Boxing Championship in Sonepat. Mamta Rani won the gold medal in the 57kg category. Radhika Tomar won the gold in the 60kg category. Anita Rawat won the gold medal in the 81+kg category. Rajvinder Kaur won the silver medal in the 54kg category. Pooja won the bronze medal in the 48kg category. tns
