Inter-School Athletics: Sahil, Sanjana scamper to gold

CHANDIGARH: Sahil Yadav of Government Model High School (GMHS), Sector 38, scampered to 200m gold during the inaugural Inter-School Athletics Meet for Primary Classes (3rd to 5th) at the Sector 7 Sports Complex here on Wednesday.

Sahil Yadav of Government Model High School (GMHS), Sector 38, scampered to 200m gold during the inaugural Inter-School Athletics Meet for Primary Classes (3rd to 5th) at the Sector 7 Sports Complex here on Wednesday.

Harman of Government Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 21, won the silver, while Bittu Kumar of GMSSS, Sector 16, bagged the bronze medal.

The day-long competition was organised by the UT Education Department.

Sanjna of GMSSS, Khuda Ali Sher, topped the podium in the girls’ 200m competition. She was followed by Sanya of GMSSS, Sector 32, in second place, while Gulshan of Government High School (GHS), Sector 19, occupied the third spot.

In the boys’ long jump competition, Sarbjeet of GHS, Hallo Majra, won the gold medal, while Ravi of GMHS, Sector 23, pocketed the silver. Vipin of Government Model School (GMS), Raipur Khrud, had to be content with the bronze medal.

Sunita of GHS, Maloya, dominated the field in the girls’ long jump contest. Kanchan of GMHS, Sector 12, claimed the second spot, while Sanjana of GMSSS, Sector 32, ended in third place.

In the 50m run, Payal of GMSSS, Kaimbwala, won the gold medal in the girls’ category. Kajal of GMS, Raipur Kalan, got the silver, while Preeti of GMSSS, Sector 18, returned home with the bronze medal.

Gyananda of GMHS, Sector 12, Anil of GHS, Sector 47, and Divan of GMSSS, Sector 27, claimed the top-three positions in the boys’ competition.

Nargis of GHS, Indra Colony, meanwhile, won the girls’ 100m dash. She was followed by Tamana of GMHS, Sector 25, and Tulsi of GMSSS, Sector 19, in second and third positions, respectively.

In the boys’ 100m dash, Sumit of GMSSS, Sector 18, clinched the gold, while Narinder of GMSSS, Sector 21, bagged the silver medal. Rohit of GMSSS, Maloya, got the bronze medal.
