Immoral trafficking: Four girls among six nabbed

The Zirakpur police booked six persons, including four girls, under the Immoral Trafficking Act after arresting them from a Royal City Hotel in Zirakpur on Thursday. The manager of the hotel has also been booked under Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Immoral Trafficking Act, but managed to escape.

Pawan Kumar, SHO, Zirakpur, said, the police raided the hotel following a tip-off and found the six persons in different rooms. The SHO added that it had been found that the hotel manager used to provide rooms to run the racket.

According to the police, the illegal practice was underway at the hotel for the past several months. Four girls, three from Punjab and one from Chandigarh, along with two procurers—Shubham of Chandigarh and Lal Bahadur of Uttrakhand—were arrested. The police produced them in a court, which sent them to judicial custody.
