Hunar Mittal carded a total of 236 to win the Eastern India Ladies and Junior Girls Golf Championship in Jamshedpur. The 12-year-old topped Category ‘C’ with a three-day score of 79-76-81. “The humid and hot conditions at Jamshedpur were a big challenge. However, my hard work paid off well and I won the championship with a good gross score,” Hunar, a student of Gurukul Global School, said after her victory on Saturday. “After playing in another championship in Gujarat, I am also planning to represent India in the upcoming world championships to be held in the USA,” said Hunar.

Golf camp from today

The Castle Sports Golf Academy will organise a summer camp from May 23 to June 19 at the Mohali Golf Range. The camp will be open to boys and girls — five years and above — and both members as well as non-members can participate in it. The camp will be conducted by Preetinder Kaur and Harmeet Kahlon, the organisers said. After the camp, the best performers will be selected for advanced programme. The interested golfers can register for the camp at the venue.

Yoga classes for students, public

Government College of Yoga Education and Health is conducting free yoga classes at 43 local government schools in the city. The classes are open to all --- students and general public. In order to accommodate more people, the college is even organising yoga sessions before the school hours. The members are provided free coaching and the organisers are also conducting seminars on the importance of yoga.
