Having seen its e-auctions flop in the past six months, the cash-strapped Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) was taken by surprise as it raked in over Rs 100 crore from the sale of commercial sites that were put up for e-auction today.

The HSVP had put up 50 commercial sites for online auction — 12 SCOs (five-storeyed, including the basement) in Sector 5, 12 SCOs (three-storeyed) in the Mansa Devi Complex (MDC), Sector 5, and 22 booths and four double-storeyed shops in the MDC, Sector 6.

From the sale of 29 sites that were auctioned today, the HSVP generated Rs 100.58 crore. Giving details, Ashutosh Rajan, Estate Officer, HSVP, said they generated a revenue of Rs 100 crore in the e-auction as compared to Rs 85 crore generated from the sale of 37 sites in seven auctions held during the past six months. He said this was for the first time that the auction time had gone beyond 10 pm. The earlier auctions had ended before 2 pm.

Rajan said investors showed keen interest in the SCOs located in Sector 5. The highest price of Rs 6.02 crore was offered for SCO 55 in Sector 5 City Centre, he said.
