Honeypreet appears before court through video conferencing

The arguments on framing of charges in the Panchkula violence case were heard today and would continue tomorrow. 

During the hearing, all accused were present while convicted Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s adopted daughter Honeypreet Insan appeared before the court through video conferencing. She is accused of triggering violence in Panchkula after the conviction of Gurmeet Ram Rahim in multiple rape cases. She has been lodged in Ambala Central jail since October 3, 2017. The case pertains to Panchkula violence that took place on August 25, 2017.

The case was filed on August 28, 2017, at the Sector 5 police station under Sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 121-A (conspiracy to wage war against India), 145 (Joining or continuing in unlawful assembly), 146 (rioting), 150 (Hiring, engaging or employing persons to take part in an unlawful assembly), 151 (Knowingly joining or continuing in any assembly of five or more persons after it has been commanded to disperse.), 152 (assaulting or obstructing public servant), 153 (provocation with intent to cause riot, if rioting be committed) of the IPC.
