Himachal boys drub Mizoram

Hockey Him drubbed Hockey Mizoram 12-0 in a Pool D match on the ninth day of the Hockey India Sub-Junior Men National Championship 2019 (B Division) in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, on Tuesday. 

Deepak (12th, 50th), Neeraj Kumar Yadav (19th, 44th), Deepu (24th, 53rd) and Manish (58th, 59th) scored a brace each, while Vishal Kumar (27th), Sagar Nanda (40th), Gautam Paswan (48th) and Javed Ansari (56th) added a goal apiece to the Himachal tally. 

In another Pool D match, Hockey Uttarakhand registered a 3-0 win over Andhra Hockey Association. 

Deepak Fartyal put Uttarakhand ahead in the 12th minute, while Suraj Negi doubled the lead 10 minutes later. Raj Thapliyal then struck in the 35th minute to seal a 3-0 win for Hockey Uttarakhand. 

In the last match of the day, Hockey Coorg humbled Telangana Hockey 5-2. Diwan Subbaiah CU (5th, 29th) struck twice, while Darshan Ponnanna PT (22nd), Bipin BR (28th) and Kiran Kumar SG (55th) scored a goal each for Hockey Coorg. 

Venkatesh Megavath (23rd) and Ram Kumar Vetti (50th) scored for Telangana Hockey.
