Fuel prices continued to shoot up on Monday in response to international crude prices, with petrol costing Rs 73.68; Rs 82.42; and Rs 76.98, respectively, in Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula.

Diesel cost Rs 68.28 in Chandigarh; Rs 65.89 in Mohali; and Rs 68.61 in Panchkula.

On Sunday, the fuel price breached the all-time high levels touched in 2013 and was priced at Rs 76.24 and Rs 84.07 per litre in both the cities.

Reacting to the spiralling fuel price Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday said the government was "sensitive towards the rising fuel prices and various alternatives” were being considered.
