Teams of the Health Department raided various areas in the city on Friday taking samples of various food items.

Under the Tandurust Punjab Mission, health teams raided many dairy shops in Nabha. Health Department teams stopped milk vendors coming from the outskirts to collect samples.

While the raids were held early in the morning to facilitate the collection of samples of milk, the teams also collected samples of other food items. 

While the preliminary sampling was done for areas near the bus stand, Urban Estate and Nabha Town, subsequently, samples were also taken from other areas.

The products of which samples were taken included sweets, milk, tea, refined oil, sugar, Cheese, gravy, rusk etc.

Health teams said samples would be sent to 

the laboratory and according to the reports of the food analyst, action would be taken.

District Health Officer Dr Krishan Singh said, “We have taken samples of various food items. More will be taken on a sampling drive scheduled. We carry out the drives early in the morning because that is when the milk is still available.”
