Health Dept collects samples from Focal Point, Devigarh

A team of officials from the Department of Dairy Development and District Health Officer collected samples of food, including milk and milk products in the district. The officials collected six samples of milk and milk products. Officials said this was done as part of the Tandrust Punjab initiative.

Deputy Director and Nodal Officer of the Department of Dairy Development, along with District Health Officer (DHO), Dr Krishan Singh, checked shops and collected samples from Focal point and Devigarh. The official collected one sample of milk and cheese from KD Dairy at focal point in the city. They collected samples of milk, cheese, desi ghee and milk powder from Singla Milk Skimming Centre in Devigarh.

DHO Krishan Singh said, “The Health Department has collected 22 samples of various food products in the district in this month. These samples are sent to the labs for checkups.” He said appropriate action would be initiated as per law if the samples are found unhygienic or unfit for consumption.
