Thrashing of teacher deplorable

Thrashing of a teacher of a government school in Sector 45  by family members of a Class XI student is deplorable. It needs to be condemned. Due to the indiscipline of Class XI and XII students at government schools, there is a sense of insecurity among teachers. Some students spoil the atmosphere of the class. When their parents are called, they blame teachers for the indiscipline of their wards. Parents should be more involved with their children.

Abolish MC

For the past over two years, the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation has failed to provide basic amenities. Instead, it imposed several taxes, burdening local residents. Owing to the paucity of funds, the MC has already stopped many development works. It has already exhausted its fixed deposits. The mismanagement by the MC is responsible for the mess. It has wasted funds on study tours and other unproductive facilities. This clearly shows that the Municipal Corporation has failed to work according to  aspirations of the. Hence, it should be abolished.

Provide more parking space

The State Library in Sector 34, Chandigarh, is visited by a large number of students and city residents everyday. Its main hall remains packed to capacity throughout the day. There is hardly any vacant space or seat. It also lacks enough parking space for visitors. Enough space should be provided near the library for the parking of vehicles. It should be managed by the library. In this way, the library may earn additional revenue, which may help improve facilities.
