Haryana Guv talks about BR Ambedkar’s vision, life

Haryana Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya gave away Rs 5 lakh to the Panjab University (PU)’s Dr Ambedkar Centre during a national seminar to commemorate the Mahaparinirvan Diwas of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar here on Thursday.

The grant will be utilised to celebrate significant days in Ambedkar’s life and to enable the students fulfil the dreams of modern India.

The seminar was on Ambedkar’s vision — ‘Protection of Social and Economic Sections’.

Arya, in his inaugural address, praised Dr Ambedkar’s effort to unify India and bring harmony by ending discriminations in the name of caste and creed.

He highlighted the need for working for the betterment of the poor. He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for implementing the vision of Dr Ambedkar though various schemes — ‘Sab ka Sath Sabka Vikas’ and ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padao’.

Prof Raj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University, said Baba Sahib remained a noble and guiding force of the modern Indian.
