The compiled report of a sexual harassment case, in which a research scholar had accused a PGI professor of misconduct, will be tabled in the governing body meeting of PGI early next month.

The internal committee, which was headed by Prof Savita Kumari comprising seven other women faculty members and four men from the administration, had earlier submitted its report to PGI director Jagat Ram Joshi.

Joshi said, “I have not seen the report yet and it cannot be made public. The matter will be taken up in the governing body meeting.”

The researcher had accused the professor of sexual harassment. She had then resigned from her project work under the accused faculty member having lodged the complaint.

Sources said the victim had done PhD from the institute two years ago. After doing her doctorate, she was doing a project work under the accused. But she had gone through a lot of uncomfortable talks and gestures by the professor. This forced her to file a complaint. — TNS
