Gurpreet scored a hat-trick as Government Model High School (GMHS), Sector 25, blanked Government Model High School, Sector 42, 4-0 in the semifinals of the State Sub-Junior Hockey Championship here on Thursday.

Gurpreet struck in the 13th, 29th and 34th minute of the match, while Kajal added to the GMHS, Sector 25, tally in the 18th minute. In the other semifinals match, Government Girls Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 18, drubbed Rock Rovers 5-0. Preeti (14th, 41st) and Amisha (16th, 20th) scored a brace each for the Sector 18 outfit, while Rakhi (4th) hit home once.  — TNS

Netball trials today 

Chandigarh: The Netball Sports Promotion Association, Chandigarh, will on Friday conduct trials to select the men’s team for the 11th Federation Cup, scheduled to be held in Bathinda from May 28-31. The trials will be held at the PU here at 4 pm. TNS
