Graft case: SHO, constable remanded in police custody

Mohali: A local court remanded Sub-Inspector Sahib Singh and head constable Rashpal Singh in two-day police custody on Sunday. Both policemen were caught by Punjab vigilance sleuths while accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 from a tipper owner during a function, where Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh was the chief guest. Retd Col accuses former IAS officer of encroachment

Panchkula: A retired colonel has submitted a complaint to the Panchkula Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) against a retired IAS officer of Punjab, accusing the IAS officer of blocking a public road by erecting a gate on shamlat land in Bana Madanpur village of Panchkula district. Panchkula DCP Manbir Singh said the SHO concerned was investigating the matter. tns
