Govt to honour citizens on Aug 15

PATIALA:The Punjab government has decided to honour all citizens of Punjab who showed exemplary bravery or special work for the betterment of society on August 15.

The Punjab government has decided to honour all citizens of Punjab who showed exemplary bravery or special work for the betterment of society on August 15. The government has asked all such persons to apply through their respective SDMs’ or deputy commissioners.

The government has claimed that the state government would honour all such persons who had fought extremists, terrorists, gangsters or any anti-social elements, at a state-level function. 

In a release issued here, the government has decided to also honour those who completed special work in the field on special service, art, literature, science or technology.

Patiala DC Kumar Amit said “Anyone, who is a resident of Punjab, could send his or her application through the local SDM or DC office. 

The selected persons will get Rs 50,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 11,000 in various categories.
