GNDU cyclists clinch gold, bronze for PU

Ashu Sharma, Amrita Reghunath, Vaishnavi Sanjay and Komal Tiwari of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, clocked 44:54.307s to clinch the gold medal in the women’s 30km team time trial event on the opening day of the All-India Inter-University Road Cycling Championship for Women, which began at the Punjabi University here today.

Punjabi University cycling team of Sonali, Jagjit Kaur, Harpreet Kaur and Jasmine Kaur (44:55.410s) bagged the silver, while Rajbala, Harpreet, Pooja and her namesake recorded 45:35.824s to fetch the bronze medal for Panjabi University, Chandiagrh. — TNS
