GMHS-42 hammer Wonderer Club

CHANDIGARH:Raman Sharma scored four goals as Government Model High School (GMHS), Sector 42, hammered Wonderer Club 9-0 in their opening match on the inaugural day of the Chandigarh State Sub-Junior Men Hockey Championship at the Sector 42 stadium here today.

Raman Sharma scored four goals as Government Model High School (GMHS), Sector 42, hammered Wonderer Club 9-0 in their opening match on the inaugural day of the Chandigarh State Sub-Junior Men Hockey Championship at the Sector 42 stadium here today. Sharma struck in the 4th, 11th, 19th and 35th minutes of the match.  

Gurjeet (23rd, 24th) scored a brace, while Rajveer (8th), Prabhjot (21st) and Karanjot (43rd) added a goal each to the GMHS, Sector 47, tally. 

Earlier in the day, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Senior Secondary School, Sector 35, registered a 9-0 win over Rock Rover Club. 

Gurkirat Singh scored six goals for the side after Manish Kumar put the side ahead in the first minute of the match.    

Gurkirat struck in the 5th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 16th and 33rd minutes. Jatin Singh (12th) and Neeraj (14th) scored a goal each for SGGS School.

In the second match, GMHS, Sector 37, steamrolled Coaching Centre, Sector 18, 12-1. Sumit scored six goals (6th, 14th, 19th, 20th, 26th, 56th), while Sahib Saini (1st, 17th) and Paramvir (7th, 12th) stuck twice each. Ajaypal (25th) and Deepak (48th) added a goal each to GMHS, Sector 37, tally.

Saqib Khan (8th) scored the lone goal for Rover Club. 

Chandigarh Hockey Academy beat Coaching Centre, Sector 42, 2-0 in their opening match. Manish Kumar (21st) and Gurkirat Singh (39th) scored a goal each for Chandigarh Hockey Academy.
