GMHS-40 boys win kabaddi opener

Government Model High School, Sector 40, defeated Government Model High School, Dhanas, 15-5 in the boy’s U-17 kabaddi opener at the Sector 42 Sports Complex here today.

The championship is a part of the Kho-Kho and Kabaddi U-17 Tournament, which is being organised by the UT Sports Department. 

Hanuman Club, Sector 42, decimated MDAV School, Sector 22, 27-2, while GMHS, Sector 12, overpowered GMHS, Sector 46, 45-20. 

GMHS, Sector 12, registered their second win of the day after they beat GMHS, Sector 46, 45-20. 

In the last match of the day, GMHS, Ram Darbar, got the better of Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 39, 33-10. 

In the girls’ U-17 category, GMHS, Sector 7, tamed GMSSS, Karsan, 39-8. 

GMHS, Sector 29, overcame GMSSS, Sector 39, 40-38, while Government High School, Sector 34, posted a 31-17 win over GMHS (II), Dhanas. 

Girls from Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 18, drubbed their counterparts from Government Model Senior Secondary School, Maloya, 51-29, while GMHS, Sector 40, outclassed Government Girls Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 20, 35-17.

In boys’ U-17 kho-kho competition, GMHS, Sector 46, registered a 16-3 victory over MDAV School, Sector 22. 

GMHS, Sector 7, beat Ashaina Public School, Sector 46, 9-2, while in the girls’ U-17 category, GMHS, Sector 7, blanked Government Model Senior Secondary School, Dhanas, 9-0. 

Universal Club beat Government Model Senior Secondary School, Khuda Lahora, 9-2. 

In the last match of the day, Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 32, beat Ashiana Public Schoo (II), Sector 46, 5-2. 

A total of 29 teams are participating in the kabaddi event while 22 teams are vying for the honours in the kho-kho championship.
