Girl among 2 held with ganja, heroin

Two persons, including an 18-year-old girl, have been arrested by the local police with ganja and heroin. According to the police, Komal, a resident of Mauli Jagran, was arrested while possessing 1.1 kg of ganja.

The police said they were near Green Park at Mauli Jagran village when they saw a girl coming towards them. The girl, who was carrying a red packet, immediately turned back on seeing the police and tried to flee from the spot. The police, including a woman constable, nabbed her and seized ganja, which was in the red packet. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered at the Mauli Jagra police station.

The police said Komal’s mother was also arrested in 2015 in a case under the NDPS Act registered at the Mani Majra police station. She was convicted in the case.In another incident, a team of the crime branch nabbed Monu, a resident of Sector 38, with 10 gm of heroin. He was arrested from near the Sector 38 gurdwara. A case has been registered against him under the NDPS Act at the Sector 39 police station.
