Fulfil demands or face agitation, says teachers' union

A meeting of the district council of the Punjab and Chandigarh College Teachers Union was held in MCM D A V College, Sector 36 today. Members opposed the biometric attendance being proposed by the Director Higher Education in the aided colleges of Chandigarh. The council also urged DHE and Panjab University to grant extension in service up to 65 years for the college teacher at par with college principals. The council also condemned delayed action in the CAS promotions and past service benefits of aided colleges. It was decided by the district council that if their demands were not met before June 2, an agitation would be launched.
