For solution to civic issues, residents of Kharar stage protest

KHARAR:Members of the Janhit Vikas Committee, led by its president Ranjit Singh Hans and secretary Harmail Singh Cholta, on Monday staged a dharna outside the office of the local municipal council, demanding solutions to civic problems faced by residents of Kharar.

Members of the Janhit Vikas Committee, led by its president Ranjit Singh Hans and secretary Harmail Singh Cholta, on Monday staged a dharna outside the office of the local municipal council, demanding solutions to civic problems faced by residents of Kharar. 

They had decided to stage a dharna from 11 am to 3 pm daily but the plan was cancelled after civic body officials assured the redressal of their grievances soon.                

Hans said they demanded the removal of encroachments from local markets and a check on the noise pollution. 

They also demanded the repair of roads and effective steps to curb the stray cattle menace in the town. 

The Executive Office og the municipal council, Rajesh Sharma, assured of action. He said owners of vacant plots would be told to get their pots cleaned within 15 days, otherwise, legal action would be taken against them.

 Those present on the occasion were Tarsem Singh Sarao, Brij Mohan Sharma, Pal Singh, Satwant Singh, Paramjit Singh, Kripal Singh and Kamaljit Singh.
