Chandigarh, July 4

A team of the UT Food Safety Department challaned Chandigarh Golf Club for preparing food under unhygienic conditions on Wednesday.

According to sources, a team of around five officials raided the kitchen of the Chandigarh Golf Club late in evening on Wednesday. They found that the food items were being prepared under unhygienic conditions. They took samples of the prepared food.

“We have challaned the club. The court will decide the amount as per the gravity of the unhygienic stuff. We inspected the club kitchen thoroughly and found several discrepancies,” said an official.

Officials of the department added that they had started a drive under which random checks would be conducted at clubs and other such institutions in the evening.
