Chandigarh, July 11

The two accused in a case pertaining to a prostitution racket being run from a Mani Majra-based salon have been granted bail by a court.

The UT police had busted the prostitution racket last month by sending a decoy customer to the salon, ‘Tressed Up’, at the NAC.

The accused in the case are the owner of the salon, Mehboob, and the manager, Swami Parsad, alias Sameer. They were granted bail on bonds of Rs 25,000 each.

The decoy customer contacted Swami Parsad, who asked him to visit the salon. The decoy customer went there and handed over Rs 5,000 to the manager. Swami Prasad kept Rs 1,000 as commission and gave the remaining amount to the salon owner, Mehboob.

Later, the police raided the salon and recovered the amount from them.

The police said Mehboob and his associate Sameer first used to provide jobs to vulnerable victims at the salon and then forced them to indulge in flesh trade.
