Five hurt in road mishap

Panchkula: Five persons sustained injuries in a collision between a car and a tipper near Burj Kotian here. Sources said the car coming from Morni collided with tipper. The tipper driver had turned the vehicle without giving an indicator. He fled the spot after the accident. Residents took the injured persons to the General Hospital, Sector 6, Panchkula. — TNS 

Theft at flat

Chandigarh: A theft was reported at a flat in a society in Sector 48 here. Thieves decamped with Rs 10,000 and silver jewellery from the flat. According to the police, complainant Harmandeep Singh, a resident of GBS and DC society, reported that the thieves entered the house after breaking open the locks and stole cash and jewellery. The police were informed about the incident, following which a case was registered on Sunday. The police said a few suspects were being verified. TNS
