Elderly woman’s chain snatched

Chandigarh, November 21

Two motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched a gold chain from a 75-year-old woman outside her house in Sector 19 today.

Sources said the victim, Angori Devi, was sitting outside her house when the miscreants arrived on a motorcycle. The miscreant riding pillion got down from the bike and walked up to the victim on the pretext of asking for an address. He then snatched her gold chain and the duo escaped from the spot. The victim raised the alarm. However, by the time her family and neighbours came out, the snatchers had escaped from the spot.

The police were informed who rushed to the spot. They scrutinised the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area. A case has been registered at the Sector 19 police station. —TNS
