Double delight for DPS girls

Delhi Public School, Sector 40, clinched both girls’ U-14 and U-17 titles in the inter-school badminton championship here today. 

DPS girls beat St. Anne’s School, Sector 32, in the U-17 final, while they drubbed Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, to lift the U-14 trophy. 

AKSIPS, Sector 41, and Carmel Convent Sector 9, finished third in respective categories. 

In the boys’ U-14 category, St. Kabir School, Sector 26, finished on top after getting past Ankur Public School, Sector 14, in the final. Delhi Public School finished third.      

In the semifinals yesterday, Ankur public School had defeated Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, while St. Kabir boys had got the better of Delhi Public School.

DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, meanwhile, registered a 2-1 victory over St. Xavier’s School, Sector 44, in the boys’ U-17 semifinals.

AKSIPS, Sector 41, blanked KB DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 7, in the other semifinal. 

Strawberry boys win  

Strawberry Fields School, Sector 26, drubbed Delhi Public School, Sector 40, 2-0 in the inter-school tennis championship for U-14 boys here today. 

St. Anne’s School, Sector 32, had an easy outing against St. Kabir School, Sector 26, winning the match 2-0. 

In the boys’ U-17 category, Delhi Public School registered a 2-0 win over Strawberry Fields School, while DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, overcame St. Stephen’s School, Sector 45, 2-1. 

St. Stephen’s School, meanwhile, got the better of Delhi Public School in the girls’ U-17 category, Gurukul Global School, Mani Majra, beat Government Model High School, Sector 41, while DAV School, Sector 8, blanked Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, 2-0. 

GMHS-16 triumph 

Government Model High School (GMHS), Sector 46, defeated Government Model High School, Sector 7, by 16 points in the girls’ U-14 inter-school kho-kho championship here today. 

Government High School, Sector 54, registered a one-point victory over Government Model High School, Sector 35, while in the boys’ U-14 category, SGGS Public School, Sector 35, humbled Shishu Niketan, Sector 22, by 11 points and one turn.
