A day after a resident of Scotland was bitten by a dog in Sector-47, the dog catching team of Municipal Corporation visited Sector-47 and managed to catch the dog that had bitten Dr Iain on Sunday evening.

In the meantime, Iain returned to Scotland on Tuesday. He has been advised to take the remaining vaccination after reaching his country. On the other hand, Ritu Gandotra, the woman whose house Dr Iain had visited on Sunday night, demanded that the dog should be shifted to a shelter as it has started biting humans.

“Even after the dog will be vaccinated, who can guarantee that it will not bite again. It does not matter if the dog is vaccinated or not. The problem is whenever a dog bites people, they have to get vaccination. It is a long process of medication,” rued Ritu.

However, there has been no let up in dog bite cases. According to Health Department official, in a month nearly 1,000 dog bite cases are being reported. Earlier, the anti-rabies vaccine (ARV) used to be available only at a dispensary in Sector-19, but now it is available in several other dispensaries as well.
