A doctor has been booked for medical negligence at Patran, in Patiala district. The Patiala police has registered a case against the accused doctor under Section 304-A of the Indian Penal Code, on Sunday.

The complainant Kulvinder Singh’s cousin Rajesh Kumar (24) met with a road accident when he was coming home from his work on August 11. Rajesh Kumar was admitted to Marok Hospital in Khanouri, near Patran. The victim was kept in the said hospital for a night, informed the police.

The next day, after the victim was discharged from the hospital, he was taken to Kaithal district in Haryana for Ultrasound and MRI tests, but the victim died on the way. The kin of the deceased alleged that Rajesh Kumar died due to the negligence of the doctor at Marok Hospital.

The cousin of the deceased Kulvinder Singh said, “The doctor misguided us, and overlooked the internal injuries which became the cause of my brother’s death.”

Shutrana SHO said, “We have filed the case against the doctor. The doctor has not been arrested until now. Investigations are underway.” The deceased was working at an ATM bank outlet - as a security guard.
